Start with Dune: Imperium – Rise of Ix.

  1. Number 1: Dune: Imperium – Rise of Ix

    Buy this first

Adds: Tech tiles, dreadnoughts, infiltrate, CHOAM/freighter track, Epic game mode and 6 new leaders.

Fixes: Base game openings can feel samey (spice-for-solari rush); adds new paths to win.

Most BGG thread replies picked it as the one to get first: new leaders and tech tiles open up more varied opening strategies.

Usually a better fit for a different kind of group — still fine if it sounds fun.

  2. Adds: Bene Tleilax board, research station, grafting of cards.

Fixes: Makes deck-building matter more, with new ways to improve and trim your deck.

Good pick if your group wants a stronger deck-building side; some BGG players prefer it over Rise of Ix.

  3. Number 3: Dune: Imperium – Bloodlines

    Depends on your group

Adds: Sardaukar commanders with skill tiles, tech tiles, 9 leaders, 32 Imperium and 18 intrigue cards, contracts.

Fixes: Tech tiles are easier to buy than in Rise of Ix (any green space).

Reviewers call it excellent with Uprising, but mixing it into the original game plus older expansions gets messy. Best if you own or plan to get Uprising.

You need Dune: Imperium or Dune: Imperium – Uprising.

Usually a better fit for a different kind of group — still fine if it sounds fun.

  4. Number 4: Dune: Imperium – Uprising

    Depends on your group

Adds: Spies, sandworms, nine leaders and a six-player team mode.

Fixes: Combat is more decisive, driven by sandworms (Polygon).

It is a standalone replacement, not an add-on: reviewers rate it better than the original, but you are buying a second full game. Get it if you want the newer version; skip it if base plus Rise of Ix already suits you.
