Start with The Rise of Fenris.

  1. Number 1: The Rise of Fenris

    Buy this first

Adds: An 8-game story campaign you can reset, plus 11 modules (including a co-op mode) to mix into normal games.

Fixes: Keeps the game fresh for groups who have played base Scythe a lot.

The one to buy first for most groups. Play the campaign, then keep using the modules.

Usually a better fit for a different kind of group — still fine if it sounds fun.

  2. Number 2: The Wind Gambit

    Worth it

Adds: Airships (7 big minis, 16 ability tiles) and 8 Resolution tiles that change how the game ends. Solo Automa parts too.

Fixes: New end-game goals stop games from feeling the same every time.

Good for groups who know the base game well and want variety without a campaign.

Usually a better fit for a different kind of group — still fine if it sounds fun.

  3. Number 3: Invaders from Afar

    Depends on your group

Adds: Two new factions (Albion, Togawa) with 10 minis, plus two player mats that raise the max to 7 players.

Fixes: Lets 6 or 7 people play and adds more faction matchups.

Get it if you often have 6-7 players or want more factions. Otherwise it can wait.

Usually a better fit for a different kind of group — still fine if it sounds fun.

  4. Number 4: Scythe Modular Board

    Depends on your group

Adds: A new two-sided board with 4 two-sided tiles and home base tiles, so the map changes every game.

Fixes: Adds a tighter map for low player counts and stops set openings from repeating.

For groups who feel their openings have become scripted.

Usually a better fit for a different kind of group — still fine if it sounds fun.
